I offer personalized neurofeedback using NewMind Technologies, an innovative, noninvasive approach to brain training designed to support nervous system regulation, improve attention and focus, and promote emotional well-being. Through qEEG brain mapping and individualized training protocols, neurofeedback helps the brain develop more flexible and balanced patterns of activity. Contact me to learn whether neurofeedback may be right for you.

Understand Your Brain. Strengthen Your Regulation. Restore Your Balance.

Your brain is constantly learning, adapting, and responding to the world around you. Stress, trauma, emotional challenges, and everyday demands can influence the patterns your brain develops over time. Sometimes, those patterns make it harder to focus, regulate emotions, sleep well, or feel like yourself.

At Rooted Hope, we use NewMind Technologies Functional Neurofeedback to help individuals better understand their brain's activity and practice healthier patterns of self-regulation.

Neurofeedback is a noninvasive, personalized form of brain training that uses real-time feedback to help your brain learn more flexible ways of functioning. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we explore how your brain is functioning and how we can support its natural capacity for change.

What Is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is brain training that uses your brain's own activity to encourage self-regulation.

Your brain communicates through electrical activity, creating patterns known as brainwaves. Different patterns are associated with states such as relaxation, alertness, attention, and sleep.

During neurofeedback, small sensors placed on your scalp measure this activity. Specialized software translates the information into feedback, often through visual or auditory experiences.

When your brain produces activity consistent with the training goals, the system provides positive feedback. Over repeated sessions, this process gives your brain opportunities to practice different patterns of activity.

This learning process draws on neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to adapt through experience.

Neurofeedback does not send electrical stimulation into your brain. It simply measures activity and provides information your brain can learn from.

Who Might Benefit from Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback may be worth exploring for children, adolescents, and adults who experience challenges related to:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Trauma-related symptoms and heightened alertness

  • Attention, concentration, and ADHD-related difficulties

  • Emotional regulation and frustration tolerance

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Depression and mood regulation

  • Cognitive performance and mental fatigue

  • Difficulty relaxing or transitioning between states of alertness and rest

Some individuals pursue neurofeedback as part of an existing mental health treatment plan, while others are interested in strengthening self-regulation and overall wellness.

Research into neurofeedback is continuing. Evidence is more developed for some applications than others, and results vary. Neurofeedback should not be considered a guaranteed treatment or replacement for established medical or psychological care.

Why NewMind Technologies?

Because understanding the whole person matters.

At Rooted Hope, we believe meaningful healing begins with understanding—not simply managing symptoms.

NewMind Technologies takes a functional approach to neurofeedback, combining brainwave measurements with information about emotional well-being, cognitive functioning, physical health, and everyday experiences.

This allows us to develop an individualized training plan rather than using the same approach for everyone.

Our NewMind approach includes:

  • qEEG Brain Mapping: Measuring and analyzing brainwave patterns to better understand how your brain is functioning.

  • Whole-Person Assessment: Considering emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological factors that may influence regulation.

  • Personalized Brain Training: Selecting neurofeedback protocols based on your assessment, brainwave activity, and individual goals.

  • Progress Monitoring: Tracking changes in symptoms, daily functioning, and brainwave patterns throughout training.

A brain map is not a diagnosis, and no single brainwave pattern explains everything about a person. Instead, it provides another source of information to help guide individualized care.

What Can I Expect?

Your brain is unique. Your training should be, too.

1. Understanding Your Needs

We begin by discussing your concerns, experiences, strengths, and goals. You may complete assessments exploring emotional regulation, attention, stress, sleep, and other areas of daily functioning.

2. Mapping Your Brain

Using qEEG technology, we record electrical activity from different areas of your scalp. This painless, noninvasive process provides information about your brainwave patterns. NewMind software helps organize and analyze those patterns alongside your assessment results.

3. Creating Your Training Plan

We review your brain map and assessments to identify potential training targets and develop an individualized neurofeedback protocol. Your plan is based on both the information we collect and the changes you would like to experience in your everyday life.

4. Training Your Brain

During a session, sensors monitor your brainwave activity while you receive real-time feedback through the training software. You do not have to consciously control your brainwaves or figure out how to make the feedback work. The process creates opportunities for your brain to learn through repetition and reinforcement.

5. Monitoring Your Progress

Throughout training, we monitor your experiences, symptoms, and functional improvements. When appropriate, follow-up assessments and brain mapping help us evaluate changes and adjust your training plan.

Neurofeedback typically involves multiple sessions because learning new patterns takes practice. The number and frequency of sessions depend on your individual needs and response.

Neurofeedback and Therapy: Better Together

Neurofeedback and traditional therapy work in different ways.

Therapy helps individuals process experiences, develop insight, strengthen relationships, and build practical coping skills. Neurofeedback focuses on practicing patterns of brain activity associated with self-regulation.

For some individuals, combining these approaches may provide additional opportunities to work toward their goals.

At Rooted Hope, neurofeedback may be offered as a stand-alone wellness service or incorporated into a broader therapeutic plan that includes counseling, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), or other regulation-focused approaches.

Ready to Learn More?

You don't have to understand everything about your brain to begin learning how to support it.

Whether you are navigating emotional challenges, supporting a child who struggles with regulation, or simply hoping to feel more balanced and focused, neurofeedback may be one option worth exploring.

Contact Rooted Hope to schedule a consultation, learn more about NewMind Technologies neurofeedback, and determine whether brain training is a good fit for your goals.

Understand your patterns. Build your capacity. Grow toward hope.

What Will this Program Cost?

The program costs differ depending on the amount of direct time you will have with your therapist. It is generally advised that you participate in sessions with a trained therapist present, the cost will be higher than if at-home use is appropriate. The fee schedule is outlined below.

Note: Insurance will not cover the cost of the neurofeedback program. Current clients may be eligible for discounted rates. Neurofeedback can be utilized as an adjunct to therapy or as a stand-alone treatment.
